Focus on flu prevention in autumn

Bailu is considered to be the beginning of the Mid-autumn season. Since then, the weather has gradually cooled, and the temperature difference between morning and evening has become large. Many people with low resistance are susceptible to various diseases at this time, the most common of which are influenza and common cold.

However, many people do not distinguish between the two diseases and treat them incorrectly, which can lead to overtreatment or worsening of the disease. So how do we distinguish these two diseases?

The onset of the common cold is relatively sudden. It usually occurs after the resistance decreases due to cold, rain, excessive fatigue, etc. Burning sensation first occurs in the nose and throat, followed by nasal congestion, runny nose, and general discomfort. Sometimes, there are also general body soreness, fatigue, and lack of appetite. Some patients are accompanied by elevated body temperature. It usually heals in about a week, has no specific medicine, and is weakly contagious.

Flu is caused by influenza virus and highly contagious. Patients will usually have a high fever once they get the flu (39 ° C ~ 40 ° C), and the high fever lasts for a long time (3 ~ 5 days). They often feel headache, chest discomfort, nasal congestion, sore throat, and complications. Severe and prone to cause fulminant epidemics, which must be treated with corresponding antiviral drugs.

The room should be well ventilated, and the air should be fumigated regularly to disinfect the air. Wear a mask when taking care of the patients, and disinfect the respiratory secretions and dirt (such as coughed sputum) of the patients;

1 Reduced to crowded public places. Avoid close contact with people who have shown symptoms of physical discomfort, fever and cough.
